We build partnerships with a variety of organizations, including research institutions, industry leaders, and other non-profits, to catalyze innovative carbon management programs with high impact.
Accelerate Net-Zero.
We work with partners around the world to advance critical paths for the growth of carbon management, to build strong policies and regulations, to catalyse climate financing, to improve the availability and understanding of critical data & analyses, and to advance conceptual design in hard-to-abate sectors and amongst frontline communities.
Build Global Capacity.
We target geographies that are important to the ultimate goal of emissions reduction, but that also require foundational support to build capacity. To do so, we work with key government and non-government institutions within these regions.
These geographies include, but are not limited to, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and India.
Promote Community Engagement.
Environmental justice is at the forefront of our work. Our programs actively address the needs and priorities of the regions and communities we work with, including those that are most vulnerable to climate change’s environmental, social, and economic impacts and the effects of industrial activity on local air and water quality.
Create Breakthrough Impact.
We catalyze activities in hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, pulp and paper. Alongside, we support and create projects that enable think tanks and/or NGOs to collaborate with key industry organizations and/or research organizations with complementary skillsets.
Programs of Work
The Global Carbon Management Foundation serves as a unique worldwide philanthropic platform dedicated to addressing the climate crisis by accelerating our collective carbon management ecosystem.
The Foundation will act as a funding source, project hub and springboard for programs that push the boundaries of the carbon management landscape, addressing needs that are currently unmet by existing government and private sector efforts. Complementary programs led by civil society partnerships will complement this work, including helping to address technical questions and concerns, distilling highly technical information and making it publicly accessible, building coalitions to addressing cross-cutting needs and opportunities, expanding carbon knowledge in key sectors and meeting rooms, and foregrounding equity by targeting priority topics and/or countries.
